Karsten Nielsen was originally educated and trained as an accountant and registered auditor, but soon chose an IT course, as IT implementations quickly caught his interest. He has concentrated solely on this field since he left the audit profession. He was very focused on streamlining and optimizing the processes in the companies he worked in, via a simple and efficient flow with the necessary contents and security. And due to that reason he has been working in depth with the details of all finance processes and other processes within PTP and OTC, several reports and KPIs, legal as well as business wise, with the focus on automation and/or optimization, especially within SAP.
Since then, he has become a very structured and professional full time SAP project manager and business application manager for the last 15 years, in which role he has developed several models to assess and measure the value for the business and prepare their business cases, and at the same time he understood to create good results through motivation and engagements of the participants.
He has primarily worked with SAP, but has earlier worked with other ERP and Finance systems. He is very good at spotting the opportunities and the potential of optimizing relevant processes during the preparing process in the ERP implementations he is running and controlling. At the same time, he is focused on getting people thinking in creating business values, instead of ‘make it easy for me’, and convert costs into values.
